A Fresh Start
I want to start this post by apologizing. Not about anything in particular but to myself.
This year, 2020; has not been the most productive for me and it has been very rough as I am sure you can all imagine.
I didn't get as much done on this project as I would have like to, and I felt myself sometimes thinking about quitting it all together because the stress of just thinking about working it was too much.
But then I realized something. I'm not under a schedule. I'm not under anyone's except my own, and my schedule is whatever I want it to be.
So what if I only work on this game 4 days out of every month. Progress, however little or however slow it may be coming, is still coming and I'm very happy about it.
So what if the game takes 5 years, or 15 years to complete (okay, I wouldn't want to spend that long on the project. I'm not making Duke Nukem here but a simple platform game). At the end of the day. I was happy with the progress I made.
Until recently.
I'm going to just say it now. I completely started over. The entire project.
Why? The short Answer was because I wasn't happy with where it was going.
The long Answer?
This game, is my first project. The first project I'm actually investing all the time I can into that I plan to release to the public. And... I learned a few things. In fact I learned a lot. I learned that success takes time. It takes practice. Whenever someone claims to release their first game, chances are it's probably not their first game they ever made.
But this is the first game that I will ever make, the first one that I want to release. So I'm being very very ambitious here.
So I want to get this right, and I want to continue to learn it all by myself. Overall I want to enjoy the process.
I think the new direction I'm going in will help me solve all these problems. For now, Have a sneak peak of the new version.
Thank you to every who is interested in this project. Even a few likes keeps me motivated.
